All guided trips will conducted on the canoe and kayak trail at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge at the Lee Road boat ramp in Boynton Beach. This trail offers a close-up view of the Everglades ecosystem, its resident alligators, wading birds, water lilies, and other wetland species. We always keep a safe distance from wildlife and give them the right of way. Life jackets are required. Our expert guides will lead you on a portion of the park's 5.5-mile loop. Paddlers will be in very safe and stable tandem sea kayaks. Group unity is a priority, stronger paddlers are encouraged to be compassionate and empathetic towards anyone that needs help. We insist that all paddlers respect the natural environment, and promote gratitude for the beauty they see on the trip. Not only do our paddlers gain a sense of accomplishment, they are often profoundly affected by a type of serenity only experienced in nature. It is our desire that the peace they feel will motivate them to seek a healthier life grounded in recovery from addiction.
Please arrive at Lee Road Boat Ramp 15 minutes prior to start time. Pick up 15 minutes after end time. All sessions include a thirty-minute safety briefing and basic kayak instruction before departure. We will end each trip with an "expression session" to provide an opportunity for personal reflection on how the trip impacted the paddler and the group as a whole. Our trips foster teamwork and confidence building in a tranquil unforgettable setting.
